Flamengo breaks record of called players for Cups before 2026, with nine representatives in the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. With this, the club reached 50 players called for the competition in all editions. Alex Sandro (Brazil), Danilo (Brazil), Léo Pereira (Brazil), Lucas Paquetá (Brazil), Varela (Uruguay), De la Cruz (Uruguay), Arrascaeta (Uruguay), Plata (Ecuador) and Carrascal (Colombia) make up this extensive list of the Fla. Before these nine, the club had reached four convoked in two occasions: 1958 and 2022. The Fla, including, is the second that most ceded players to selections in the Cups, alongside Botafogo.
