Flamengo has nine players called up for the World Cup. Four of them have already been eliminated with Uruguay and Ecuador. The planning with Arrascaeta, Varela and De la Cruz will be repeated with the other athletes who eventually leave the competition in the coming weeks.

What happened?

The players will get 10 days of vacation from the release by the selections. Flamengo understands that there is no reason to force a faster return, besides having a legal obligation to give rest to the athletes.

Why is this important for Flamengo?

The club understands that it needs to do careful reconditioning to have everyone in the best conditions in the second half. Cases like Arrascaeta and Paquetá, who were injured during the period with the national teams, will be looked at with caution.

Flamengo takes to the field on July 22, against Chapecoense, at Arena Condá. The World Cup final is scheduled for July 19.
